BYTEiT installs Wi-Fi at the world famous, Lost Gardens of Heligan

BYTEiT was asked to quote for a wireless solution to replace an unreliable ADSL connection to remote buildings on the Heligan site.  BYTEiT was competing against another company bid offering to lay a fibre optic cable, this was a good opportunity to show how cost effective a wireless solution can be compared to other options.

After a site survey was conducted a solution was devised to link the remote buildings via wireless to the stewards offices.  The Stewards House is a listed building so a minimal solution was needed (see picture below).  The lofty heights of the chimney needed to be reached to clear the obstructing buildings between the stewards offices and the remote buildings.  To keep things light and minimal a fibre glass pole and fist size directional antenna was mounted to the chimney, an antenna cable runs from the antenna to an access point located in the stewards office.
